Indian Institute of Technology or IIT organizes Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for the admission to the India’s highly prestigious institutes like IIT Mumbai, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Chennai, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, IIT Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad for B-Tech and other courses.

Schedule: IIT-JEE Exam generally held in the month of April, once in every year.
Eligibility:
The eligibility for the candidate is to pass 10+2 system or its equivalent examination, with Science background to appear in the IIT for admission to B-Tech and other course in IITs.
If relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.
For the general candidate the upper age limit is 25 years and for SC/ ST/ PWD, the upper age limit is 30 years.
It is to be noted that a candidate can take IIT-JEE only twice, in consecutive years.
The decision of the Joint Admissions Board regarding the eligibility/ ineligibility of candidate’s admission shall be deemed final.
Nature of Test and Subjects:
IIT-JEE is one of the toughest exams of India. It has two level - one is preliminary level and final one is main level exam. If one can qualify the preliminary exam he will be eligible for main exam.
The question type of the exam is of objective type. The test consists of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
There is a three hours duration for the test and each wrong answer carry negative marks. It is needless to mention that the main exam is tougher than prelim exam.
