Management Aptitude Test – MAT

Centre for Management Services (CMS) of All India Management Association (AIMA) organizes Management Aptitude Test (MAT) for the admission to the post graduate management program or equivalent to the renowned Management Institution (MI).

Category: Management Exam.

Schedule: 4 times in a year at 3 months interval. In general, MAT is conducted in the month of February, May, September, December in all the major cities of India .

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline (BA, B-Sc, B-Com, B-Tech etc.) of any recognized University is eligible for the exam. Undergraduate students can also appear conditionally.

Usually the management institutes (MI) impose a cut off percentage marks in graduation as a criteria for admission besides the score in MAT.


Nature of Test and Subjects covered
: Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is an objective type test in multiple–choice answer mode.

MAT is designed to test basic IQ and Knowledge of the candidates to undergo Post Graduate Programme in Management.

MAT has five sections –

  • Language Comprehension
  • Mathematical Skills.
  • Data Analysis and Sufficiency.
  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning.
  • Indian and Global Environment.

Each section consists of 40 questions, which precisely means, a total of 200 questions need to be attempted in 150 minutes.
